Running Every Day For Mind Charity

Kendal Nutricare Laboratory Technician is running everyday this year raising money and awareness for Mind the mental health Charity.

Not only is he running every day but he hopes to run 3 marathons, some halves and many 10ks!

He is hoping to raise over £500 for the charity this year.

We asked Philip why he started his challenge…

Last year (2017) I had problems with stress, anxiety and depression. I found that when I can go running it really helps.

So in 2018 I have decided to combined the two and do something for the mental health charity Mind.

Philip started his challenge when Mind ran an event called R.E.D in January 2018. R.E.D stands for Run Every Day. The event runs, as the name suggests, throughout the whole of January. However Philip planned to do this and more, he has not stopped running and hopes to run every day this year!

I am going to follow the regime of the great Ron Hill, a man who ran every day for over 50 years! Hill defined a ‘run’ as completing a distance of at least one mile at any pace.

So for the whole of 2018 I plan to run at least one mile, most days more, some days even running a marathon.

Philip, we wish you the best of luck!

If you would like to help Philip on his journey and help support Mind you can sponsor him here on his JustGiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/runeveryday2018
