Team Leader

This is a great opportunity for a Production Team Leader in our Blending department to join an ever-growing business in the food manufacturing market.

The successful candidate will provide professional management to a production line; managing the people, product and process whilst meeting our H&S, quality, hygiene, manufacturing and cost targets. We are looking for an individual who leads by example, takes their work seriously and has excellent people management skills. Candidates must be enthusiastic, hardworking, reliable and flexible with the ability to follow instructions and with good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Drive performance and growth through excellent operational knowledge
  • Motivate and inspire staff to achieve or exceed the team’s performance targets
  • Support and encourage the production team to embrace continuous improvement and lean projects
  • Ensure the production team are performing at the appropriate skill level to meet the production plan, identifying future training needs and ensuring training/coaching is carried out to maintain operational efficiencies
  • Define, create and develop solutions to identify the root cause to problems to avoid future occurences and develop this practice with the production team
  • Seek opportunities within the production team to make changes in a collaborative way to create improvements
  • Ensure poor performance is addressed and Employee Relation issues are resolved within the parameters of Company procedure, seeking guidance from Operation Management or HR where appropriate

Experience

  • Experience of managing teams and developing people within a manufaturing environment
  • Strong awareness of manufacturing to high quality standards and resolving technical challenges to improve quality
  • Proven ability to prioritise and manage own workload
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Proactive approach to tasks, working in a fast paced environment
  • Good working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Proven problem solving skills
  • Although previous experience within the food industry would be advantageous, the successful candidate will be trained in food safety as part of the induction process

Shift work: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, working earlies, lates and nights
